As a government worker (messenger) of the Local Government Unit of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, ELADIO DASI-AN prepared to go home after office hours on 20 June 2006 to his family in Sitio Tuminhao, Brgy. Suddenly, three (3) bonnet- clad men armed with 45-caliber pistols emerged along his way and shot him several times on his chest and head. Assured that Eladio was already dead, the men hastily left on a waiting vehicle. The assailants are believed to members of the "death squad" of the 11th IB-PA based in Brgy. McKinley, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental. The incident happened at around 6:00 PM .
Several days prior to the incident, Eladio already got information from neighbors and reliable sources that motorcycle-riding men had been asking on his whereabouts.
